Welcome to
We provide life-saving equipment such as publicly accessible defibrillators and training in basic life support (CPR). Funded entirely by donations, we receive no financial support from the Government, NHS or ambulance service. We are operated by volunteers.
Our objectives are to support community resilience by;
Every week in Scotland, around 70 people have a cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public place.
Starting CPR as soon as possible will give the person the best chance of survival, but being able to use defibrillator within the first few minutes of collapse increases that chance even further.
We help save lives across North East Fife by providing advice, training, and full and part funding to communities wishing to install a Public Access Defibrillator.
We have been working and campaigning, since 2008, with communities to increase the availability of Public Access Defibrillators in our area. We now have 55 placed across St Andrews and surrounding communities.
Each of our defibrillators is maintained by a volunteer guardian. These are all held on a database, The Circuit and visible to the Scottish Ambulance Service. When you dial 999 their map will show the nearest defibrillator and they will guide you to it.
Locations of our cPADsFor every minute that passes without receiving CPR or having a defibrillator used after cardiac arrest, chances of survival decrease by 10%.
Starting CPR as soon as possible gives the person the best chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.
We work to empower as many people as possible to learn how they can save someone’s life with CPR.
Our volunteers provide free CPR and defibrillator awareness sessions to community groups throughout the North East of Fife
We offer a free training programme in basic life support and how to use a public access defibrillator. These training sessions are open to everyone in North East Fife . This can be from private companies, other charities, youth organisations, sports clubs, etc.
